Sky News now available on TuneIn

Sky News has expanded its audio offerings by making its audio output available on the TuneIn app for users in the UK, Ireland, and the US. The live stream of Sky News, which includes reports, advertisements, and live announcements, replicates the television service. This move follows a new deal between Sky News and TuneIn and does not impact the Sky News hourly bulletins delivered to radio stations.

Listeners can access Sky News audio through the TuneIn mobile app, web browser, and connected devices such as Alexa, Sonos, and Google Home. Additionally, users can listen to Sky News on TuneIn in compatible car models with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay by simply saying, “Play Sky News on TuneIn.” Vehicles with TuneIn natively built in, such as Tesla and Rivian, will also benefit from this integration.

Priya Sahathevan, Director of Commercial & Business Development at Sky News, highlighted the increasing importance of audio to news audiences and expressed excitement about the audio partnership with TuneIn. She emphasized that this collaboration offers another avenue for audiences to access Sky News’ award-winning journalism, keeping them connected to current events wherever they are.

Fergus Mellon, General Manager of TuneIn UK, expressed enthusiasm about expanding the audio news content library with Sky News. He emphasized the role of TuneIn in providing on-the-go access to the information that Sky News’ audience needs the most, 24/7.

The addition of Sky News to TuneIn joins other television services with streamed audio, including GB News and TalkTV, which are available nationwide on DAB platforms. This expansion enhances TuneIn’s presence in the UK while offering Sky News audiences another platform to stay informed with the latest news and headlines across various topics, including business, politics, and entertainment.
